WHAT'S COMING UP

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENTS

It’s been a very busy 12 months for Gamechanger as we’ve been splitting our time between developing our new online learning platform, whilst also being out and about delivering important training sessions to professionals and awareness raising sessions to Young People throughout the UK.

new website

We’re absolutely delighted that you’re reading this blog on our shiny new website. The new website being live is an important milestone for Gamechanger as it enables us to start to roll out our programmes to young people across the UK more easily. Thanks to the team at AdaptiVLE for bringing our vision to life, we now have a wonderful new platform that hosts information on all of our products, programmes and training opportunities and, the most exciting part, it’s also an interactive e-learning portal that enables facilitators and young people to log in and access immersive learning resources online.

Our Level 2 Child Criminal Exploitation programme ‘INTERVENTION’, is now available to access through the portal as an 8 week progressive course, and uses specially created interactive online resources in combination with our cutting edge VR experience ‘CHANGE YOUR GAME’ and a number of resilience-based complementary exercises with training and resources provided, to create an effective targeted intervention for the most vulnerable young people.

NEW MODULES

NEXT MODULE: VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS (VAWG)

Keen to ensure our programmes include the UK’s most pressing social issues and challenges facing young people, the next programme available on the online platform will focus on Violence Against Women and Girls.

Globally, around one third of women, have been subjected to physical and/or sexual violence within their lifetime with around 7% of UK women having experienced domestic abuse [add more detail from latest reports – include links to any organisations/recent reports/studies etc.]

Accuracy and realism is a key element of our experiences, and as such, as with our CCE programme, we are working with an expert panel of advisors to inform our work. The final products will include a LEVEL 1 ‘IMPACT’ drama-based workshop designed to raise awareness for young people at the start of Secondary School and a LEVEL 2 ‘INTERVENTION’ 8 week programme featuring a Virtual Reality experience and tailored online interactive resources designed as a more targeted intervention.

FUTURE MODULE: SOCIAL ANXIETY AMONGST YOUNG PEOPLE

With 50% of mental health problems being established by age 14, and the global presence of anxiety and depression having increased by over 25% in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, many are concerned about the long-term impacts of the pandemic on the mental health of young people. [needs to include links to material/evidence to aid ranking]

Young people have missed out on the inherent socialisation that comes with attending school, due to isolation and lockdown measures and as such, there has been a rise in social anxiety amongst young people.

Following in the footsteps of earlier programmes, our carefully curated resources will enable schools to access content and experiences that will aid young people in recognising and coping with symptoms of social anxiety through our blended learning packages.
