VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN & GIRLS - INFORM
Virtual Reality Experience &
Making Meaning Workshop
This workshop centred on our Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Virtual Reality 360 film ‘It Stops with Us’, which immerses the viewer into a number of different scenarios depicting the varying themes, issues and concerns around VAWG from the perspective of different characters. The programme is aimed at men across the UK and involves a series of workshops that will promote positive masculinity, disrupt negative stereotypes and empower men to be better upstanders and allies to women and girls.
The viewer is asked to make a series of decisions throughout the piece as they witness acts of VAWG, helping delegates to identify sexual harassment and violence, and introduce the concept of bystander versus upstander.
The virtual reality film is used as the catalyst and initial introduction to VAWG. Following the VR session, delegates experience workshop content designed to derive meaning from the virtual reality experience. The aim is to ensure a deep understanding of the issues covered and help them build awareness to take into the future and into their professional work.
